My name is Jessica.
I am a Registered and Accredited Veterinary Nurse, working as a Practice Manager in Australia. I hold a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience from La Trobe University and a Certificate IV in Vet Nursing, with a burning passion for Animal Nutrition. I have completed countless hours of veterinary continuing education in Animal Nutrition including the Nutritional Nurse Consultant program with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and I currently run a nutrition consultancy service at my clinic where I help pet parents every day both to treat their pet’s medical conditions and ensure their pet’s get the best possible nutrition for them. As we speak, I’m probably undertaking a bunch of other nutrition courses, or reading Small Animal Clinical Nutrition. I am working toward one day becoming a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Nutrition.
I started this blog to educate pet parents and veterinary professional alike on the importance of animal nutrition. Everything stems from diet. Tell me one patient who won’t benefit from high quality food? I’ll wait. It’s vitally important we get this right, and yet it’s so often done wrong! I want to share my knowledge in a sea of overwhelming choice and conflicting opinions, so that you can feed your pets right. No judgement, just the facts here. There’s a sea of inaccurate information online; not even veterinarians can wade through it at times. I’m here to sort the facts from fiction, and provide it as clear and concise as I can. Hopefully, you will leave with a new found love of small animal nutrition.
