About Me

Jessica BAnVetBioSci, RVN, AVN

Jessica graduated with her Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences from La Trobe University and went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing shortly after. She became one of the first few AVNAT Registered Veterinary Nurses in Australia and then obtained AVA Accreditation as a testament to her ongoing commitment to professional development and veterinary nurse education. She has worked in the veterinary industry in a variety of roles, for over 12 years and now supports the pet food industry and consumers with her extensive nutritional knowledge. The right diet can be life-changing and even serve as a medical treatment, which is what motivates Jessica to improve the lives of pets through nutrition and educate pet parents and professionals on the importance of diet as both a medical treatment and preventative health care. Jessica has undertaken extensive study and continuing education in the area of animal nutrition and is always studying! In 2020, Jessica started her blog, NutritionRVN.com to reach more pet parents and provide a central location for evidence based animal nutrition information and advice.

She is currently studying towards Veterinary Technician Specialist status in Nutrition and will sit the Board exam in 2023.
